Recent Work

I create works that explore the intersections of cultural identity, materiality, and digital landscapes, drawing on my experiences within the Arab community and beyond. My practice engages with themes such as violence and play, social mobility and immobility, and the shifting identities that emerge in unstable times. By combining photography, sourced imagery, and material experimentation, I examine stereotypes and media representations that shape both our self-perceptions and external narratives.

About the Artist

__

Yusef Fageeh (b. 2000) is an artist residing between the United States and the SWANA region. Fageeh is a recent graduate of the University of Central Florida with a BFA in Drawing and Painting and a minor in Philosophy. Since then, he has been an artist-in-residence at the Berlin Art Institute and pursued self-guided research in Cairo, Egypt. Fageeh’s work explores the intersections of culture, symbolism, and materiality, often addressing themes of identity, Orientalism, multiculturalism, and the tension between material and digital landscapes. Drawing from his upbringing between Saudi Arabia and the United States, his practice transforms ordinary objects and spaces into reflections on power, community, and representation in a globalized world.
